Experienced Civil Litigation Attorney (Hybrid)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to join their New York City office, specializing in automotive and trucking negligence. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work with a distinguished team known for effective representation in various liability claims.

Duties

• Manage a full caseload of motor vehicle negligence and/or general liability claims.
• Supervise junior attorneys and staff in case-related responsibilities.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Communicate with clients, insurance contacts, and opposing counsel.
• Research and analyze legal issues and opinions.
• Conduct depositions, handle arbitrations, and argue motions.
• Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
• Analyze and summarize case-related records.
• Write reports to clients on case status and issues.
• Explain litigation processes to clients.
• Ensure cases progress toward efficient and fair resolutions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in civil litigation, specializing in motor vehicle negligence and/or general liability.
• Experience with depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Proven ability to manage a full caseload.
• Experience in managing junior attorneys and staff.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
