Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its Government Contracts practice in Washington, D.C. The role involves representing government contractors across various industries in a wide range of government contracts matters.

Duties

  • Investigate and defend clients in False Claims Act matters and other government inquiries.
  • Conduct mandatory disclosures and internal investigations for federal contractors.
  • Advise clients on suspension and debarment proceedings.
  • Provide transactional support for mergers and acquisitions involving government contracts.
  • Represent clients in bid protests and size challenges before various forums.
  • Handle significant claims and litigation before federal boards and courts.
  • Counsel on procurement compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements for defense and national security applications.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience, including government contract law.
  • Experience with investigations, bid protests, claims litigation, or procurement counseling.
  • Clerkship at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the FAR, SBA regulations, or cost accounting standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse teams.
  • Strong academic record, excellent writing, and oral communication skills.
  • D.C. Bar membership or ability to waive in is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility to waive in.

Skills

  • Proficiency in leveraging technology platforms for legal research and document drafting.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
