Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Energy and Infrastructure practice in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy projects, particularly in renewable energy and energy storage, with a focus on energy offtake agreements.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate renewable energy power purchase agreements.
  • Advise clients on corporate PPAs and energy storage offtake agreements.
  • Handle agreements for carbon removal credits and nuclear offtakes.
  • Manage renewable energy credit agreements and hedging agreements.
  • Work on resource adequacy sales agreements, ISDAs, and EEI agreements.

Requirements

  • 3-9+ years of relevant experience in energy projects.
  • Strong academic credentials and superior communication skills.
  • Membership to the State Bar where the candidate will be located.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills

  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client relationship management.
