Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level litigation associate in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience, handling diverse caseloads, providing legal counsel, and representing clients in various legal matters. Bar admission is required in the attorney's resident or affiliated office.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery.
  • Navigate and manage all aspects of discovery disputes.
  • Conduct and manage all fact and expert discovery, including e-discovery strategy and processes.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Manage litigation independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general commercial litigation.
  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent client-relations skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the attorney's resident or affiliated office.
