A law firm is seeking a Senior Estates and Probate Attorney II for its Colorado Springs, CO office with 5+ years of law practice experience, including a book.

 

Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for mediating disputes, representing clients in trials, researching complex legal issues, writing legal documents, marketing the firm's services, performing discovery, conducting due diligence, managing schedules, approving invoices, ensuring support staff utilization, updating case management systems, and engaging in brand expansion activities. Excellent communication, advocacy, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Mediate disputes and represent clients in trials.
  • Research complex legal issues and write memorandums, briefs, and letters.
  • Market the firm's services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information.
  • Conduct due diligence in all matters.
  • Manage a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to reach production objectives.
  • Close consults within firm range.
  • Timely approval of invoices.
  • Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
  • Update case management systems accurately and completely.
  • Engage in brand expansion activities through blogs, social media, board participation, etc.
  • Seek positive comments and star reviews from successful client engagements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of law practice experience with a book.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Bar in the state of practice.
  • Significant mediation and trial experience.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage schedules and approve invoices in a timely manner.
  • Excellent writing, legal research, and interpersonal skills.
