Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate to join its dynamic and sophisticated estate planning and trust and estate administration practice in Hartford, CT. This position is ideal for candidates with at least four years of experience working with high-net-worth clients to develop long-term estate planning strategies. The associate will handle all aspects of estate planning, probate processes, and related tax matters.

Duties

  • Develop long-term estate planning strategies for high-net-worth clients.
  • Draft relevant estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and other related instruments.
  • Handle all aspects of the probate process, including post-mortem estate and tax planning.
  • Prepare estate tax returns and trust and estate income tax returns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the successful administration of estates and trusts.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Trusts & Estates law.
  • Active member in good standing of the Connecticut Bar.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar is a plus.
  • Strong experience in working with high-net-worth clients.
  • Proven ability to handle complex estate planning and administration matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Connecticut Bar (required).
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar (preferred, but not required).
