Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney for a full-time, in-person position in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves managing a substantial domestic relations caseload, including divorce, child custody, and support matters, with significant paralegal support.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family law cases, including litigation and mediation.
  • Advise on divorce, custody, support, and domestic violence issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings and court orders.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and apply relevant statutes and case law.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and paralegals for efficient case management.
  • Stay current on family law statutes and case law changes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar and in good standing.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in family law or domestic relations litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of family law statutes and court rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Empathy and professionalism in client interactions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications

  • Active admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
  • Active admission to the New Jersey Bar (preferred)
