Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-5 years of experience to join its State & Local Policy & Regulation practice group in Atlanta. The candidate will provide strategic legal advice on complex regulatory, legislative, and policy matters, collaborating with attorneys and advisors across various practice areas.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research, drafting, and briefing in regulatory and policy-oriented civil litigation.
  • Research, analyze, and draft memoranda, briefs, and motions on regulatory and legislative issues.
  • Prepare clear, well-reasoned work products for clients, courts, and agencies.
  • Support business development through client alerts, presentations, and publications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, and community leaders.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Litigation experience, particularly in administrative or complex civil matters, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with administrative law, public policy, or regulatory frameworks preferred.
  • Experience with energy, health care, or other regulated industries is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.

Skills

  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple matters and competing deadlines.
