Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Firm Corporate Counsel in Washington, DC, with consideration for 100% remote US locations. The role involves collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel to manage the firm's corporate legal affairs, including drafting and reviewing corporate documents, advising on AI-related issues, and assisting with global compliance and risk management.

Duties

  • Assist the Corporate Deputy General Counsel with global legal affairs and strategic risk management planning.
  • Draft and review corporate documents for US and international offices.
  • Administer risk management policies and create training materials.
  • Stay informed on professional conduct rules and AI developments.
  • Develop and implement AI strategies for the Legal Department.
  • Manage significant transactions and maintain checklists.
  • Create and coordinate contract templates and playbooks.
  • Review client engagement agreements and other legal documents.
  • Assist with compliance, regulatory matters, and corporate filings globally.
  • Handle corporate secretarial matters and governance documentation.
  • Respond to auditor, insurance, and client information requests.
  • Address client relationships, conflicts of interest, and intake matters.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals for risk management.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate and current admission to a U.S. bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years of legal experience at a large firm, preferably in M&A or corporate practice.
  • Experience with professional responsibility rules and codes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in law firm settings preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving approach.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
