San Antonio office of our client seeks attorney with 6-10 years of experience. The candidate serves in the practice areas of: insurance defense, construction defect, premises liability, products liability, professional liability, and/or labor and employment. Exercises independent judgment and discretion to perform substantive legal functions in client matters. Maintains positive contact with clients and observes confidentiality in client matters. Participates in the firm's marketing efforts and is responsible for client development. May be assigned to work independently or under the supervision of other attorney(s) employed by the firm. Maintains membership in State Bar and completes all required Continuing Legal Education requirements on an annual basis. Follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state and complies with all requirements of the firm's professional liability insurer. Sets retainer and payment schedule with clients for legal services to be directed by and/or performed by associate under the terms of the firm's fee agreement. Assumes responsibility for obtaining security and collecting any receivable on assigned cases. Reviews and analyzes newly assigned and existing matters in order to provide legal representation until the matter is concluded. Drafts all necessary documents to provide legal representation to clients and routes them through the appropriate office procedures to produce final documents. Performs necessary legal research using all available resources including libraries and computer data systems. Formulates and issues well-founded legal opinions to clients. Effectively conducts negotiations, when appropriate, to resolve matters on behalf of clients. Advises and communicates regularly with clients regarding the status of their matter. Experience taking depositions, and attending mediates is required. Trial experience is preferred. A current book of business or small practice groups is encouraged to apply. Legal
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 100 percent of work time. Analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate by e-mail and telephone with a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Ability to travel to private and public buildings locally and statewide via private or public conveyance to attend to client needs on legal matters.
