Job Overview

A law firm seeks junior to senior-level associates with expertise in quantum computing to join the Electrical & Computer Technologies group in their Prosecution & Counseling department, based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Duties

  • Collaborate with clients and inventors throughout the patent process.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. patent applications for complex quantum computing technologies.
  • Draft responses to office actions and make strategic patent application decisions.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate, infringement, and patentability analyses.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
  • Knowledge of quantum computing, with a preference for photonic quantum computing, quantum error correction, and quantum computing architectures.
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the USPTO.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in teams.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
