Job Overview

A prestigious national law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Principal Attorney to join its Business Practice Group. This role offers an excellent platform for a seasoned attorney with a portable book of business to counsel a wide range of small and large clients across various industry sectors, with a particular emphasis on the consumer goods and consumer products industries.

Location

  • Spokane, WA

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including:

    • Manufacturing Agreements

    • Distribution Agreements

    • Sales Broker Agreements

    • Raw Material Supply Agreements

    • Packaging Supply Agreements

    • Equipment Leases and Purchase Agreements

    • Product Purchase and Sale/Supply Agreements

  • Provide strategic advice regarding contract law principles and risk mitigation strategies

  • Support business clients in day-to-day operational matters and strategic transactions

  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on interdisciplinary matters

  • Manage client relationships and participate in business development initiatives

  • Provide counseling on regulatory compliance and industry-specific contractual frameworks

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex commercial contracts

  • Experience working with clients in the consumer goods and/or consumer products industries

  • Portable book of business required

  • Ability to independently manage a busy and diverse client portfolio

  • Strong client-service orientation and proactive communication style

  • Ability to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law

Skills

  • Expertise in commercial contract law and risk management

  • Advanced negotiation and drafting skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
