Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with experience in Labor & Employment matters to join its Plano, Texas office. The candidate should have a minimum of two years' experience and be adept at maintaining client confidentiality and fostering positive client relationships. The role requires a team-oriented individual who can provide practical legal advice and develop strategies to minimize litigation risks.

Duties

  • Provide initial case analysis and develop strategies.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and attend hearings.
  • Explain legal options and potential outcomes to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Negotiate, research, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and solid academic background.
  • Proactive, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a history of meeting billable hours.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
