Trademark Associate (Prosecution)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Trademark Associate (Prosecution) for its Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will work with a team of distinguished attorneys to provide strategic counsel on trademark and copyright matters, including prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.

Duties

• Advise clients on U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution.
• Review clearance searches and prepare responses to PTO office actions.
• Prepare and respond to cease and desist letters and handle enforcement matters.
• Manage domain name disputes, UDRP actions, and TTAB proceedings.
• Engage in matters related to trademarks and social media platforms.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in trademark counseling and prosecution.
• Experience in copyright law.
• Active membership in the state bar and compliance with CLE requirements.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical skills for complex legal analysis.
• Effective communication with diverse clients and team members.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active state bar membership.
