A law firm seeks a Commercial Lending and Finance Attorney to support secured real estate and financing matters. The role involves structuring and documenting complex lending transactions, advising on commercial leases and trust instrument drafting, and managing workouts and restructurings. The ideal candidate will work with diverse lender and borrower clients across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring efficient closing processes and regulatory compliance.

Duties

  • Structure, negotiate, and document first- and second-lien commercial real estate financings.

  • Draft and review deeds of trust, security agreements, leases, title objections, and related instruments.

  • Advise on workouts, restructurings, and enforcement of secured interests.

  • Coordinate with title insurers, lenders, borrowers, and counsel to facilitate closings.

  • Maintain organized client files and manage transaction workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in commercial lending and real estate finance.

  • Proven track record in structuring and closing secured CRE transactions.

  • Familiarity with state and federal filing requirements and court procedures.

  • Excellent oral advocacy and legal drafting abilities.

  • Capacity to handle confidential, high-stakes matters with discretion.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice and in good standing in at least one of: MA, RI, NY, SC, NC, or FL.

Skills

  • Advanced negotiation and deal-structuring expertise.

  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.

  • Proficiency in analyzing title matters and drafting title objection correspondence.

  • Ability to synthesize complex legal and factual data into clear arguments.
