Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Firm Corporate Counsel for its Austin, TX office, with consideration for 100% remote locations within the United States. The role involves collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel to manage the firm's corporate legal affairs, including drafting and reviewing corporate documents, advising on AI-related issues, and assisting with global compliance and risk management.

Duties

  • Assist the Corporate Deputy General Counsel with global legal affairs and strategic risk management planning.
  • Draft and review corporate documents for US and international offices.
  • Administer risk management policies and create training materials.
  • Stay updated on professional conduct rules and AI developments.
  • Develop and implement AI strategies for the Legal Department.
  • Manage significant transactions and maintain related checklists.
  • Create and coordinate contract templates and playbooks.
  • Review client engagement agreements and other legal documents.
  • Assist with compliance, regulatory matters, and corporate filings globally.
  • Handle corporate secretarial matters and governance documentation.
  • Respond to auditor, insurance, and client information requests.
  • Address client relationships, conflicts of interest, and intake matters.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals for risk management.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate and current admission to a U.S. bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years of legal experience at a large firm, preferably in M&A or corporate practice.
  • Experience with professional responsibility rules and codes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in law firms preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving approach.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethics.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities and priorities.
