Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney in Pennsylvania to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to client service and the ability to manage a growing caseload. This full-time position offers remote work flexibility and requires PA Bar admission.

Duties

• Meet with clients in person, virtually, and by phone to review facts and develop case strategies.
• Collect retainers and execute contracts with clients.
• Research cases by interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence.
• Negotiate plea bargains with the prosecution when applicable.
• Draft, file, and argue motions in court.
• Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on strategies.
• Conduct trials and administrative proceedings as necessary.

Requirements

• PA Bar admission required.
• Ability to handle a high caseload.
• Strong client-attorney relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional investigative and research skills.
• In-depth understanding of state and local rules and court procedures.
• Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.

Skills

• Experience with SmartAdvocate case management software is a plus.
• Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
