Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Criminal Law Associate Attorney in Spartanburg, SC. The role involves managing a high-volume caseload, conducting client consultations, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. The attorney will collaborate with case managers and team members to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.

Duties

  • Conduct new client consultations and evaluate potential cases.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Research legal issues and prepare cases for court and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Manage and review assigned cases to ensure timely progress and resolution.
  • Communicate with clients in person, by phone, virtually, and in writing.
  • Collaborate with case managers and team members to manage case workflow.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and case reviews.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with firm procedures.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and ensure an excellent client experience.
  • Navigate cases from initial consultation through resolution.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, case managers, and support staff.
  • Courtroom experience is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
