Job Title: Intellectual Property, Hatch Waxman Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected law firm located in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced attorney through our legal recruiting agency to support its high-stakes Intellectual Property litigation practice. This opportunity centers on Hatch-Waxman patent litigation and regulatory issues involving pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate will have meaningful trial-level experience, a strong academic foundation, and the ability to handle complex patent cases from pre-filing to final resolution.

Duties:

  • Handle all phases of Hatch-Waxman litigation, including pre-suit analysis, discovery, and trial preparation

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and briefs in patent-related disputes

  • Manage expert and fact discovery, including depositions and strategy development

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including regulatory, IP, and scientific experts

  • Interpret complex scientific data and pharmaceutical regulations for legal strategy

  • Assist in client counseling andthe  development of case-specific approaches

  • Engage with federal court processes and procedures in IP cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation or closely related life sciences IP matters

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal writing, including briefs and motions

  • Experience working within collaborative teams in high-pressure environments

  • Active bar membership in good standing

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to a State Bar required; federal court admission preferred

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities

  • Advanced organizational skills with acute attention to detail

  • Effective communication and time management abilities

  • Ability to understand and communicate scientific and technical concepts

  • A background in chemistry, biology, or related life sciences is highly desirable
