Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a talented and experienced Property Casualty Litigator to support its growing practice. This fully remote position is ideal for an entrepreneurial attorney passionate about litigation, with a strong background in property casualty, first-party property, or civil litigation. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and highly competitive compensation in a supportive and tech-forward legal environment.

Location

  • Metairie, LA

Duties

  • Handle a full caseload of property casualty litigation matters

  • Litigate cases in both state and federal courts across Iowa

  • Draft pleadings, motions, complaints, and briefs with minimal supervision

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Manage discovery processes and litigation strategy

  • Mentor and supervise legal support staff

  • Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in proceedings

  • Collaborate with leadership on firm development and client service strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property casualty, first-party property, or civil litigation

  • Proven experience managing litigation through to trial

  • Comfortable working independently and in a remote setting

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Iowa (Required)

  • Additional state bar admissions are a strong plus

Skills

  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Proficient in litigation and trial preparation

  • Skilled in legal research and case strategy development

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to supervise junior team members and manage caseload independently

  • Tech-savvy and open to innovative legal tech platforms
