Associate - Litigation and Coverage

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with up to 10 years of experience to join its litigation and insurance coverage practice in Seattle, WA. The role involves representing insurers in coverage and bad faith cases, as well as defending corporate clients in commercial litigation and catastrophic loss and wrongful death claims.

Duties

• Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
• Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal correspondence.
• Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Manage matters, deadlines, and client communication proactively.

Requirements

• Excellent academic credentials.
• Admitted to practice in WA and in good standing with the bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Interest in insurance coverage and litigation matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Washington State.
