Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Transactional Real Estate Attorney in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will independently manage commercial and residential real estate transactions, represent lenders, and oversee all aspects of the closing process. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transactions within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Facilitate and manage real estate transactions from contract through closing.
  • Represent lenders in lending transactions, including preparation and negotiation of loan documents.
  • Coordinate and oversee closings, including preparation and review of closing documentation.
  • Review corporate formation and organizational documents related to transactions.
  • Analyze title reports, resolve issues, and ensure title clearance prior to closing.
  • Supervise paralegal workflow to ensure timely file progression.
  • Communicate with clients regarding transaction status and legal issues.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in real estate transactions.
  • Experience in lender-side closing transactions.
  • Knowledge of transactional and REO closing practices.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; NJ Bar preferred.
  • Experience with REO closings and private financing origination preferred.
  • Superior writing, legal research, and analytic skills.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and work well under pressure.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficient in identifying and resolving legal issues.
  • Independent and deadline-driven.
