A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced litigation attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Long Beach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling a variety of legal disputes, demonstrating expertise in case strategy, courtroom advocacy, and legal research. Both full-time associate attorneys and contract attorneys with the required experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a diverse caseload, handling all aspects of litigation from inception through resolution.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft persuasive motions, pleadings, and briefs.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.

  • Engage in pre-trial discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, depositions, and document requests.

  • Analyze legal issues, develop strategic case plans, and advise clients on litigation risks and potential outcomes.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, partners, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling and successful client representation.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and procedural rules affecting litigation matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of litigation experience in a law firm or equivalent legal setting.

  • Strong background in civil litigation, including trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.

  • Experience handling motions, discovery, depositions, and settlement negotiations.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and research skills.

  • Strong oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
