Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team in Lancaster, PA. The role involves handling all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation and providing strategic legal analysis to clients.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and appeals.
  • Provide strategic legal analysis and case evaluations to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.
  • Prepare and present cases before Workers' Compensation Judges.
  • Draft persuasive motions, briefs, and settlement evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and active license in good standing in Pennsylvania.
  • 3 years of direct PA workers' compensation experience with the ability to handle all aspects of the litigation process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
  • Self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management, strong organizational, and outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Education

  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

  • Active license in good standing in Pennsylvania.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
