A law firm seeks a Career Associate for the Real Estate Investments and Transactions Practice Group in Boston. This role involves managing legal tasks related to the financing of commercial mortgage loans on backed-leveraged facilities. The position supports complex financing arrangements by preparing and negotiating documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing the closing process.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transfer documentation for commercial mortgage loans using client forms.
  • Prepare and negotiate loan servicing and ancillary financing documents.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to complete onboarding and KYC requirements.
  • Manage execution of signature pages and facilitate smooth closings.
  • Review corporate authority documents and draft certificates and consents.
  • Coordinate lender diligence deliverables, including loan files and lien searches.
  • Use AI technologies to enhance document review and workflow efficiency.
  • Apply experience in real estate or specialty finance and adapt to new areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law and a member in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience in real estate finance, commercial mortgage transactions, or specialty finance preferred.
  • Strong ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Proficient in managing transaction processes and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Skilled in reviewing corporate authority documents and preparing related certificates.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Adapts to new areas of real estate or specialty finance as needed.
