Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney (Associate or Partner) in Akron, NY. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, collaborate on complex legal matters, and build a thriving practice with some flexibility for remote work. Duties

  • Handle divorce proceedings, custody, child support, and family offense matters.
  • Manage cases involving abuse, neglect, and juvenile delinquency.
  • Draft prenuptial/postnuptial agreements and QDROs.
  • Conduct mediation evaluations and negotiations.
  • Meet with prospective clients and conduct initial consultations.
  • Advise clients and prepare legal strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Represent clients in court across Western New York.
  • Coordinate with clients, paralegals, and the legal team to ensure high-quality service.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • At least one year of experience in Matrimonial and/or Family Law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities independently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills
