A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its Plaintiff Personal Injury Practice in Kansas City, MO. The attorney will collaborate with a dedicated support team to manage cases effectively and ensure optimal client outcomes.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of approximately 150 active personal injury cases.
• Serve as the primary legal contact for clients, providing updates and support.
• Evaluate cases to assess liability, damages, and potential settlement value.
• Oversee medical treatment progress for accurate documentation.
• Draft demand letters highlighting liability and medical damages.
• Negotiate with insurance adjusters for optimal settlements.
• Handle insurance coverage disputes and policy limit demands.
• Evaluate settlement offers and advise clients on next steps.
• Collaborate with senior litigation attorneys on cases transitioning to litigation.
• Oversee lien resolution and subrogation issues.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience handling motor vehicle accident cases in a pre-litigation setting.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to maximize settlements.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding client service skills and clear communication of complex legal issues.
• Experience working with medical providers and insurance adjusters.
• Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
