Senior Litigation Attorney

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a proactive and highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation and trial work, particularly in representing large international logistics services providers. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases and provide sound counsel to clients.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Participate actively in trials, including preparation and courtroom appearances.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Draft case analysis reports for client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois.
• 15+ years of general casualty litigation experience.
• First and/or second chair experience strongly desired.
• Trial experience required.
• Insurance defense experience is required.
• Experience in general liability, premises liability, products liability, construction, and transportation.
• Experience with emerging e-commerce/gig economy legal issues preferred.
• Deposition and motion practice experience required.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in Illinois.
