Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney in Portland, Oregon. This full-time position requires a bilingual (Spanish/English) attorney passionate about immigration law and client advocacy. The role involves in-office work with potential travel to Tacoma, Washington.

Duties

  • Represent clients in various immigration matters, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Work closely with clients to assess immigration options and guide them through the legal process.
  • Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and provide informed advice.
  • Draft and review immigration applications, petitions, and appeals.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, Dept of State, EOIR, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies and contribute to a supportive work environment.
  • Stay updated on immigration laws and policies to ensure high-quality service.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in any State, with a preference for Oregon.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Tacoma, WA.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for immigration advocacy and human rights.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work with diverse clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in any State, with a preference for Oregon.
