Job Overview:
A national law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Renewable Energy practice in Bismarck. This role focuses on renewable energy transactions and project development matters within a sophisticated national energy practice.

Duties:

  • Support renewable energy transactions involving project development, financing, and commercial matters
  • Draft, negotiate, and close complex commercial agreements
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, real estate matters, and project development initiatives
  • Advise clients on transactional and operational issues related to energy projects
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the Energy, Environmental, Mining, and Transportation Division
  • Participate in a broad range of renewable and conventional energy matters

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of transactional experience in renewable energy, conventional energy, or related practice areas
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, financing, real estate, or project development transactions preferred
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with renewable energy tax credits, including ITCs or PTCs, preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage sophisticated transactional matters in a collaborative environment

Education and Certifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • Licensed to practice in Minnesota or eligible for admission without examination

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across practice groups and client teams
