A law firm based in Glendale seeks a litigation associate with a minimum of two years of relevant experience to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient case handler with a strong foundation in personal injury defense and civil litigation, particularly with matters involving public entities. This opportunity provides professional development under the guidance of experienced leadership, with the potential for long-term advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of litigated matters from pre-trial through resolution

  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

  • Conduct and defend depositions, case evaluations, and mediations

  • Communicate directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel

  • Prepare strategic case assessments and litigation plans

  • Appear in court for case management conferences, motion hearings, and other proceedings

  • Maintain meticulous documentation and billing records

  • Collaborate with partners and team members while maintaining ownership of assigned matters

Required Background & Credentials

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing in civil litigation with a focus on personal injury and insurance defense

  • Familiarity with representing or opposing public entities is strongly preferred

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (in good standing)

  • No relocation candidates accepted; local applicants only

  • Demonstrated ability to manage litigation cases with minimal oversight

Education & Certification

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active license to practice law in California

Compensation & Incentives

  • Base salary range: $120,000 to $165,000 (commensurate with qualifications and years of practice)

  • Quarterly bonus eligibility for attorneys billing over 480 hours per quarter (160+ per month)
