Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Removal/Bond Attorney based in Jersey City, New Jersey. This role involves representing clients in removal and bond proceedings, developing legal strategies, and collaborating with a dedicated team. Duties

  • Represent clients in EOIR removal and bond hearings.
  • File motions, briefs, and appeals before EOIR, BIA, and federal courts.
  • Communicate with detained clients and their families.
  • Participate in AOS interviews and SIJS hearings.
  • Develop litigation strategies based on legal research.
  • Collaborate with case managers and legal assistants.
  • Maintain organized and compliant case records.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in the U.S. (New Jersey Bar Member).
  • 1-3 years of experience in removal defense and bond representation.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).
  • Based in New Jersey with ability to appear in NJ, NY, and PA.
  • Strong writing and litigation skills.
  • Aligned with immigrant rights and social justice.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable vehicle required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
