Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Anaheim, CA, to join their team specializing in Workers' Compensation. This full-time, salaried position offers a hybrid work environment with opportunities for bonuses.

Duties

  • Make in-person and remote court appearances at Workers' Compensation Appeals Boards throughout California.
  • Appear at arbitrations and mediations.
  • Represent clients at depositions both in-person and remotely.
  • Conduct new client intakes.
  • Prepare deposition reports, hearing reports, and case updates.
  • Review medical reports and prepare case valuations.
  • Communicate with clients, providing updates and advice on disability benefits, medical treatment, and settlements.
  • Perform legal research and prepare petitions and other pleadings.
  • Draft letters and correspondence to advance cases.
  • Develop case strategies and conduct settlement negotiations.
  • Handle all aspects of discovery.

Requirements

  • Licensed California Attorney in good standing with no prior disciplinary record.
  • Ability to travel to Workers' Compensation Appeals Boards and offices throughout California.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff.
  • Strong time management skills for managing cases and prioritizing tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction.
  • Ability to analyze cases and determine next steps in discovery and litigation.
  • Experience handling depositions and cross-examining medical experts.
  • Proficient in managing a large caseload.
  • Effective use of technology, including online case management systems.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
