Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Trusts and Estates Litigation Attorney in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have over six years of recent civil litigation experience, with a preference for probate and trust litigation. Duties

  • Review and draft communications, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and trials or arbitrations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court staff.
  • Develop litigation strategies and tactics in collaboration with others.
  • Maintain high standards for professionalism, ethics, and work quality.
  • Conduct legal research using Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Meet or exceed billable hours requirements.
  • Manage own caseload and meet internal and statutory deadlines.

Requirements

  • Experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw, and law firm client management software preferred.
  • Active member of the California State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • California State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Proficiency in California Rules of Court and local rules.
  • Knowledge of the California probate and trust administration process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong client management skills from intake through resolution.
  • Excellent command of English, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to set goals and mentor others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well both independently and as part of a team.
