Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Civil Litigation Attorney in Lithia Springs, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and a passion for the practice of law. This position offers the opportunity to work within a niche practice area by representing clients in Coin-Operated Amusement Machine (COAM) Law. Join a seasoned team of professionals and engage in complex legal work.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload from inception through resolution, including client consultation, discovery, trials, and appeals.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations related to practice areas.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other involved parties to gather information.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • At least 5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia, and in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law.
  • Experience in litigation and courtroom procedures.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage support staff.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of contract law.
