Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Infrastructure Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Infrastructure practice in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure-focused projects, particularly in public-private partnerships (PPP), project financing, and drop-down transactions. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating closely with clients in the infrastructure sector.

  • Represent equity sponsors, financing parties, and private sector participants in PPP projects.
  • Engage in project financing and drop-down transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver innovative solutions in infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • 6 to 9+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects.
  • Strong academic credentials and superior communication skills.
  • Membership to the State Bar in the location of practice is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar in the practicing state.

Skills

  • Excellent client management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision.
  • Mental well-being programs and family care benefits.
  • Short- and long-term disability and parental leave benefits.
  • Health savings account contributions and flexible spending accounts.
  • 401K program and compensated time off through a Flexible Time Off program.

Substantial billable hours is the primary way to get the big bucks and partnership consideration at this large New York firm. With West Coast roots, but not attitude, these New York lawyers work hard. Competitive and fast-paced, this firm excels across practice areas, but is doing some particularly interesting VC work. Although a type A environment to be sure, the atmosphere is still friendly, albeit without a lot of casual partner/associate interaction. Partner/associate relationships are strong in professional terms, however, with excellent marks for training and a fairly regimented associate development program. Now competing to be one of New York's finest, this firm is increasingly selective in associate hiring.
