Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic Labor and Employment Associate to join its team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation and client counseling.

Duties

  • Handle temporary restraining order and temporary injunction proceedings.
  • Manage trade secret misappropriation and noncompete litigation.
  • Conduct wage and hour class action litigation.
  • Participate in union negotiations and provide advice and counseling.
  • Address OSHA matters and single plaintiff employment litigation.
  • Engage in discovery, motion practice, and drafting of pleadings and motions.
  • Prepare for trials in both state and federal courts.
  • Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Experience with trial preparation and court filings.
  • Demonstrated client relationship and business development skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, collegial environment.

Education

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing of the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted.
  • Timely admission to the Bar of the hiring office's state required.
