Job Overview: A law firm seeks a full-time Estate Planning and Litigation Associate in Lake Success, New York. This position offers a blend of estate planning and litigation support, providing hands-on training, mentorship, and meaningful client interaction while engaging in both planning and dispute-related matters.

  • Duties:
  • Assist in drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.
  • Support Medicaid planning, applications, and asset protection strategies.
  • Work with senior attorneys on estate litigation and Surrogate's Court matters.
  • Prepare filings and assist with litigation strategy and case management.
  • Participate in client meetings and gradually take on independent responsibilities.
  • Support matters involving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Collaborate with attorneys on guardianship, estate administration, and related matters.
  • Requirements:
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in estate planning, elder law, or related areas preferred, or strong potential as a newly admitted attorney.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid planning and trust-related matters preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between office locations if needed.
  • Ability to manage tasks in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Education and Certifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New York.
  • Skills:
  • Strong legal writing and drafting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
