Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Paducah, KY, or Illinois to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients and comfortable in a courtroom setting, with experience in Family and Criminal Law preferred.

Duties

  • Manage a full caseload and provide exceptional legal services to clients.
  • Make independent decisions on cases while adhering to firm standards.
  • Take effective statements from clients and third parties.
  • Educate clients on case phases and manage their expectations.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and court appearances.
  • Guide and direct paralegals.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of active cases.
  • Build strong cases and maintain detailed records in case management software.
  • Analyze legal issues and documentation specific to cases.
  • Prepare briefs for motions and filings.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Litigate cases that proceed to court.

  • Exemplify the firm's values through leadership.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and/or Kentucky, with license in good standing.
  • 0-5 years of experience in personal injury, Family, Criminal, and Business Law.
  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Self-starter with initiative and independence.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Law License or pending license with bar passage (Illinois/Kentucky).
