Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney with 2–3 years of experience to join its Real Estate & Finance Practice Group in Rochester, New York. This role provides valuable exposure to high-value transactions, including acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing. The position offers a collaborative, professional environment with direct client interaction and a hybrid work schedule after the initial onboarding period. Location:

Duties:

Real Estate Transactions:

  • Assist in commercial real estate purchases, sales, leasing, development, and financing

  • Draft and negotiate contracts, including loan documents, leases, easements, and closing materials

  • Conduct title and survey reviews, facilitate due diligence, and coordinate closings

  • Represent developers, business owners, and financial institutions in transactional matters

  • Manage entire deal process in collaboration with partners and clients

Client Advisory & Representation:

  • Provide legal counsel to banks, developers, investors, and business clients

  • Deliver strategic legal advice while managing risk and ensuring compliance

  • Engage with business leaders and decision-makers throughout complex transactions

Team & Project Management:

  • Oversee non-attorney personnel during closings

  • Manage closing checklists and timelines

  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on various matters

  • Contribute to business development and firm-wide initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactions

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in New York State

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and client interaction abilities

  • Proficiency in managing real estate due diligence and transactional timelines

  • Professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency in handling complex legal matters
