General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney in McLean, Virginia. This role involves handling litigation matters, providing counsel to clients, and collaborating with talented colleagues nationwide. Duties

• Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Manage all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments and strategic recommendations.
• Work closely with attorneys on complex matters involving general liability and related claims.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit development.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for efficient case management.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Virginia.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience with general liability, personal injury, premises, products, transportation, employment, or insurance litigation preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions is required.

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
