Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for their Consumer Class Action Department in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves advocating for clients in complex consumer fraud, data privacy, and breach of warranty class action cases. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team known for handling high-profile and precedent-setting cases.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Draft and file complaints for data breach cases efficiently.
• Draft and revise legal documents, including complaints, briefs, and memoranda.
• Participate in strategy sessions and case planning meetings.
• Review and analyze discovery materials to identify key evidence.
• Write and research pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Attend hearings and stay updated on relevant legal precedents.
• Coordinate with expert witnesses and prepare for expert depositions.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 2+ years of experience in Consumer Class Action or Data Privacy areas.
• At least three years of litigation experience.
• Outstanding legal research skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work independently.
• Experience in mediation; class action and appellate experience a plus.
• Ability to type at least 40 wpm.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership with the California State Bar.
