Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Intellectual Property Associate with a technical or engineering focus to join its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in intellectual property matters, including patent and trade secret cases. This role requires strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, along with the ability to work independently.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents related to intellectual property cases.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex litigation matters.
  • Advise clients on intellectual property strategies and compliance.
  • Represent clients in court and before administrative bodies.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in intellectual property law.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the office location.

Education

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of the office location.

Salaries are in line with other top Bay Area firms, and the firm provides a sizable bonus for all lawyers who bill at least 1,950 hours, with additional money based on three separate billable-hour levels above 1,950.
