Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Government Contracts Associate to join its Chambers-ranked practice group. This position involves handling sophisticated government contracts matters, including litigation, compliance, and client counseling, with opportunities for professional growth and partnership.

Location

  • Miami, FL

Duties

  • Represent clients in bid protests and related legal proceedings.
  • Advise on cybersecurity requirements and compliance with acquisition regulations (FAR and DFARS).
  • Draft Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), claims, and conduct CDA litigation.
  • Analyze and counsel on federal subcontracting, flow-down compliance, and related disputes.
  • Provide legal support for multiple award contracts and small business procurement issues.
  • Handle matters involving sectors such as aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries.
  • Contribute to legal thought leadership and client development initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4–5 years of experience in government contracts law, ideally within a law firm setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage specific legal matters independently.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to complex legal challenges.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Expertise in bid protests, REAs, CDA litigation, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to collaborate within a dynamic team.
