Innovation Lawyer - Corporate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Innovation Lawyer - Corporate in Chicago, IL. This role is embedded within the Technology Department and aligned with the Corporate & Finance Transactions Department. The position focuses on developing and driving AI strategy for transactional lawyers, with an emphasis on corporate and commercial work. The successful candidate will engage in firm-wide projects and collaborate with other professionals to deliver AI transformation across the firm's global network.

Duties

• Identify high-value AI use cases across Corporate Practice Groups.
• Support pilots of AI platforms in collaboration with the LEAP Taskforce.
• Standardize and scale AI solutions across Corporate Practice Groups.
• Provide AI support and assistance to lawyers.
• Embed AI use in associate training programs.
• Prepare and deliver AI-related technology presentations and trainings.
• Collaborate with Knowledge Solutions and Innovation teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a corporate lawyer in a large US or international law firm.
• Experience in a legal technology role or a strong interest in AI.
• Understanding of corporate workflows and a process-driven mindset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Service-oriented with a proactive approach to driving change.
• Flexibility to support firm priorities and strategies.
• Understanding of product development, UI/UX concepts, and user testing is desirable.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
