Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join their team in Kansas City, KS. This full-time, in-office position offers a dynamic environment for attorneys at various experience levels to manage cases, attend court hearings, and engage in legal writing and trial work.

Duties

• Manage a caseload requiring lawsuit filings.
• Attend court hearings and take depositions.
• Engage in legal writing and trial work as first chair.
• Meet with clients and handle case files.
• Prepare cases for demand and negotiate settlements.
• Present cases to a Focus Group and participate in trial as second chair.

Requirements

• Kansas bar license or eligibility to take the next bar exam.
• Dual-licensing in Kansas and Missouri for Kansas City office attorneys.
• Experience in personal injury litigation is preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Kansas or Missouri.

Skills

• Strong legal writing and research abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
