Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trust and Estates Attorney to join its team in Denver. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with a solid referral base and expertise in estate and probate matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising clients, drafting wills and trusts, and managing estate administration proceedings. Compensation will be based on experience, with potential bonuses for business origination and portability.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to understand their estate planning needs and document the outcomes of consultations

  • Strategize and make recommendations for comprehensive, customized estate plans

  • Collaborate with third-party professionals such as financial planners, CPAs, and insurance agents

  • Manage all aspects of client matters from engagement to completion

  • Supervise junior legal team members (paralegals and/or legal assistants) assisting with case preparation and delivery

  • Handle estate planning, probate, and trust administration cases

  • Provide guidance on managing estate assets and resolving disputes

  • Maintain a strong client relationship and ensure satisfaction throughout the process

Requirements:

  • Active Colorado Bar License

  • 3+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration

  • Portable book of business or strong desire to build and manage a client base

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in litigation, drafting, negotiation, and communication

  • Strong research and writing abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with Wealth Counsel is a plus

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong professional ethics and a dedication to maintaining high standards

  • Ability to manage a full caseload effectively

  • A good reputation within the legal community

  • Desire to mentor and teach other professionals

  • Strong interest in learning oil and gas law (optional)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Colorado Bar Association

Skills:

  • Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Research and analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Wealth Counsel (preferred)
