Job Overview
A law firm seeks an associate attorney in Portland, Oregon, with a minimum of three years of experience in personal injury defense, employment, and commercial litigation. Candidates must be licensed in Oregon or Washington and demonstrate the ability to work independently on complex litigation cases.

Duties

  • Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and as part of a team.
  • Conduct fact investigations.
  • Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments of motions.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, providing trial team support and conducting direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon or Washington.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Ability to work independently on complex cases.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Oregon or Washington.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document review.
