Job Overview

A law firm seeks a midlevel associate with infrastructure experience to join its Energy, Infrastructure, Project, and Asset Finance practice in New York. The successful candidate will engage in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex project and financing agreements, advising clients on legal and regulatory issues, and conducting due diligence to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Duties

  • Negotiate, draft, and review complex project agreements and financing documents.
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory issues related to infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct due diligence, including risk assessment for infrastructure transactions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage closing processes and coordinate with junior associates.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and legal developments.
  • Contribute to research, knowledge development, and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Admitted to the New York bar (or ability to become admitted) and in good standing.
  • 4+ years of relevant law firm or in-house experience; transactional experience required.
  • Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent drafting skills and a client service focus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the New York bar (or ability to become admitted).
