A law firm seeks a passionate and motivated Defensive Immigration Attorney to join their legal team in Newark, NJ. This full-time position requires on-site presence three days a week, offering a hybrid work model. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis for immigration law cases.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on asylum, cancellation of removal, and general removal defense.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence with precision.
  • Guide and support clients throughout the immigration process.
  • Lead and manage multiple case files with strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance legal strategies and outcomes.
  • Stay updated on evolving immigration laws and policies.

Requirements

  • Active bar membership.
  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research using legal platforms.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership.

Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages preferred.
  • Additional experience in specific immigration law specialties or areas of practice preferred.
